If you drive by Common Ground at Faith, you’ll spot a bright orange sign in the yard and we’ve never been so excited about a yard sign! It’s a visible reminder that our renovation is truly moving forward.
In March, we’ll take an important step by appearing before the Metropolitan Development Commission to request rezoning for the food pantry and additional nonprofit use. We’re wrapping up pre-construction now, with construction set to begin this spring.
Thanks to your support, we remain on schedule and are joyfully working toward moving the pantry to CGAF by November 1!
The Power of Partnership
One of the most inspiring parts of Common Ground at Faith is the strong partnerships across the east side of Indy. A powerful example is the collaboration between New Beginnings Fellowship Church (NewB) and Old Bethel and Partners Food Pantry.
For more than a decade, New Beginnings has faithfully served alongside the pantry. Every third and fourth Saturday, NewB volunteers lead operations, with each ministry taking a turn to serve and provide food for our neighbors.
NewB has also been instrumental in imagining, planning, and helping create Common Ground at Faith. Their leadership and commitment have helped shape this vision from the very beginning.
This partnership is a beautiful reminder that when we work together, we build something far greater than any one organization could alone.
Fundraising Updates
We are incredibly close to reaching our fundraising goal and we are so grateful for the generosity that has brought us this far!
We’re also excited to share that we recently received a grant to support critical bathroom updates, allowing us to upgrade the facilities to be fully ADA compliant and welcoming to all.
To complete the project, we still need $75,000 to purchase a walk-in cooler and freezer for the pantry. These pieces are essential to safely store fresh and frozen food for the families we serve.
We’re in the final stretch, and with your continued support, we know we can get there!
