Rev. Dr. Alexia Ellis
Dr. Alexia Ellis is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio but has called Indianapolis her home since
1998. With a background as an educator for over 15 years, she has a deep affection for children
and an unwavering commitment to training and coaching individuals to help them unlock their
full potential. Her name, which means 'helper of mankind', is not just a mere coincidence; she
actively strives to live up to its meaning. In her leisure time, Dr. Ellis finds joy in the arts,
particularly Broadway productions, and live music performances. She also delights in attending
competitive sporting events.
Dr. Ellis attended Kentucky State University where she was crowned Miss Kentucky State
University 1994-1995, and she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education in
1995. She went on to enroll at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK to obtain a Master of
Education degree in 1998. After being called to ministry, she enrolled at Christian Theological
Seminary in Indianapolis, IN, receiving the Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Scholarship and graduated in
December 2011. In May 2020, She earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from the United
Theological Seminary, specializing in Leadership Development and Spiritual Formation for
Healing and Reconciliation from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH.
Dr. Ellis, an ordained minister is currently serving as the Executive Pastor at New Beginnings
Fellowship Church in Indianapolis, IN. In addition, she works as a Clergy Consultant for the Lilly
Endowment Clergy Renewal Programs and Capacity Building Grant Coach for the Leadership
Education Programs at Duke Divinity School. She is also the founder and CEO of Emerge UP
Consulting Inc. Emerge UP helps leaders reach their full potential in all their dimensions to live a
purpose driven life. She is a certified trainer, speaker, life, and leadership coach, having
undergone training under the guidance of Dr. John C. Maxwell and his esteemed team of
instructors. Armed with these valuable tools, resources, and her wealth of experience, she is
committed to assisting individuals and teams in realizing their objectives and fulfilling their goals.
She is actively involved in the community and serves as the Vice Chairman on the Board of
Directors for the Common Ground at Faith organization. In addition, Dr. Ellis is a proud member
of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. since 1994. Her mission in life is to help people reach their
God-given potential spiritually, professionally, and personally. She is passionate about serving
her community, pastoral care, social justice, using her gifts and talents to promote education,
training leaders, as well as mentoring and empowering people.
